Chennai Express

"Chennai Express" - A Good Timepass Movie - and here I say that in a good sense. It is a typical Rohit Shetty Brand Movie..loaded with Comedy & Action...but this time with a definite touch of Shahrukh's sweet Romance. Deepika looked very good in all those lovely colouful sarees and Shahrukh, needless to say was superb. Vishal-Shekhar's music was very foot tapping...be it..."1-2-3-4-Get on the dance floor"; "Titli"; "Thalaiva"; "Kashmir to Kanyakumari"; "Tera rasta main chodun na"; every single song is a Chart-Buster...overall it is a Family Entertainer....I Liked It...I will give : 3/5

Ranjhanna

Raanjhanna – A Brilliant Movie …a must watch from my side…Tight Screenplay and Scripting; Apt characterization and casting. Every single one played their part to perfection. Special mention goes to Dhanush who lost himself in “Kundan” the subject he was playing in the movie… he was so REAL.
A distinct Rehman flavour fills you up.
There is a social message in the film relating to the Dirty Politics and the Hindu-Muslim angle.
It is basically a love story. But here “Love” has not been glorified rather it was the cause of much despair and impending disaster. It is a love story with 4-5 angles to it…but which ever angle you choose to see it, what you get in hand is failure… “nakkam mobabbat ki dastan hain yeh…yeh pyar aabad nahin barbad karti hain”.

Yeh Jawani Hain Deewani

A Good Timepass Movie.
Story same old-same old - Based on the set pattern of distinctions between good gal-bad gal & tom boyish gals…guys who are adventurous by nature and run miles away from commitment/ marriage ..enjoys drinking and ladki pataoing. And yah it is a film about friendships which remains constant even after years of distance.  It is a fun loving movie for youngsters.
Songs are groovy but does not touch your heart.
But one thing that I’ll put up a special mention for is DEEPIKA. She looked so good right from the onset as a simple, studious “Chashmish gal” to a “Fun loving  gal” in “Balam Pichkari” to a “Glam gal” in “Badtameez dil”. When she smiles she looks beautiful but when she cries she looks even better…so if you are a Deepika fan then this movie is worth the money.
I will give this movie 3/5.

Aashiqui 2

The story is somewhat predictable...the pace is slow...treatment...average...I really missed some powerpacked romantic dialogues... but still I will say it is worth putting your money in for two reasons...one..songs...the songs are very soothing to the ears...very melodious..specially "Sun raha hain na tu"; "Tu hi yeh mujhko bata de"; "Chaein bhi mera dard bhi meri aashiqui ab tum hi ho"...and number two reason is the leads - Aditya Roy Kapoor and Shradha Kapoor both looked so innocent..so sweet...their freshness and simplicity leaves you humbled...This movie is all about love...woh pyar jo diye ki tarah khud jal ke roshan kar jati hain....I liked it..will give it 3/5.

Kai Po Che

Kai Po Che….what a movie …Brilliant.
Initially,  when I saw the promos it definitely caught my attention…three bright faces who represented the commoners. Simple young lads with big dreams casted against limitations . Based on Chetan Bhagat’s novel “3 Mistakes Of My Life” this movie reminds us of the horrid realities of the "Gujrat Earthquake and Godhra Riots" while touching the basic emotion "Friendship". The tense chord gets some relief with refreshingly melodious music, each & every song is good. Story is Good. Screenplay is good. Every single body played their part to perfection. A special mention goes to Sushant who played the character of “Ishan”. What passion about cricket , what fraustration about future, what belief in Ali, what kind heart & soul which stands by everyone in trouble. The climax left me in tears though.
Overall 5/5 and it is “A Must Watch” from my side.

Breaking Dawn Part - 2

“Twilight”, is a woman oriented series. A course of life, chosen by the lead, “Bella”. And over the course we have seen “Bella” grow…from a teenage girl to now a full grown woman.
“Bella” looked very smart and sexy. Now that she has turned into a coldblooded being herself and as Edward says that they are now of the “same temperature”….things are very different. “Jacob” says “you look good together”, really they did.
“Bella” in that sleek little blue dress with a side cut, all set in her hunting mode will take you by storm. Edward says “I underestimated you”…I underestimated her too. She looked very different from her previous “Avatar”. I never liked “Bella” much as a girlfriend or wife but I really liked her a lot as a responsible & protective mother. This is a totally transformed “Bella” that we have never seen before.
Other than the ever gorgeous “Cullens”, this time, the film does have something new to focus on ….the world view….there were so many different looking vampires . It was interesting to see them showcase their unique talents.
The main focus of the movie was “Renesmee”, Bella’s baby girl. And I’m really happy from the bottom of my heart for “Jacob”. Finally his aching heart got some solace. Another thing, “Shirtless Jacob” looked good.
“Edward” looked good as a caring husband and dotting father.
My heart was really thumping in anticipation of some distressing moments at the end, but trust me the climax, will take you by surprise and I personally came out of the theatre with some broad grin on my face.
I will give this movie 4/5.

Jab Tak Hain Jaan

Jab Tak Hain Jaan, the last “Classic Love Story” of Yash Chopra fails to impress me. May be the expectation was too high.
Much depend on the marketing strategies, I guess. The first look with Shahrukh in the army dress with the shaery was good. The Shahrukh’s intro with “challa” was pretty impressive. Shahrukh looked very impressive in both his pre and post interval avatars and he acted well too.
The two songs that defined Katrina Kaif was “ Saans” & “Ishq”; she looked very glam and danced well too.
Anushka’s intro song was “challi re – challi re junoon ko liye”. Anushka looked Bindaas.
The film’s strong point was definitely the Trio – Shahrukh, Katrina & Anushka who will hold you with their good looks and acting abilities . Other than that, drawbacks are the story which is a bit boring and the treatment which is a bit slow. Even if you miss a few scenes that’s OK.
I really expect some real good dialogues from an Aditya Chopra’s film…nothing is quite striking.
Music by A.R. Rehman is good but not extraordinary.
Overall though it has managed to create frenzy in the masses and it is doing very good box office collection personally I’ll not remember this movie in long run.
I will not give this movie more than 3/5.
